The Best Star Wars Games to Play

Star Wars isn’t just comics and films. I’ve made reviews about the films and the comics yet I never made anything regarding the games?!? What kind of fan am I?!? 

The games of the Star Wars universe bring so much more life to it than the novels, films, and comics ever could. I say this because in the games you actually live and get to experience all of the nooks and crannies of the lore. It is hard not to fall in love with the universe even harder after playing a couple of the games that have been brought to this world. 

So without further ado, let the list begin!

• 3. Star Wars: Battlefront II
  

  The OG.

  This is the game that most other Star Wars fans would consider to be the DEFINITIVE game of the Clone Wars and Rebellion Era. I would concur. Not only did this game bring forth some massive improvements that plagued the first game, it brought about a new way to immerse yourself into the worlds made by the prequels and the original trilogy. 

  From Naboo to Utapau to Hoth this game lets you relive the greatness that you see on screen. There is a reason why many prefer this game over the new Battlefront that was released. It’s graphics are dated but it’s definitely something to pick up and play around with if you’ve got a good PC or a PS2/Xbox lying around somewhere. Nothing can beat conquest and those space battles (something that the new game lacks)!!!

• 2. TIE Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast (JK2) and Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (JK3)
  

  Definitely one of the greats!

  

  The KotF mod on this is amazing!

  The Jedi Knight series gave some amazing games. But none beat the power that JK2 and JK3 brought to the table. From the graphics for its time, its story, its voice acting, and yes its LIGHTSABER COMBAT. The gameplay in these games were absolutely phenomenal. To this day, and I kid you not, there has not been a single Star Wars game that has managed to emulate how great the lightsaber combat was in these games (you could actually dismember and eviscerate enemies with your saber). 

  This series brought to life one of the best Expanded Universe characters ever, Kyle Katarn. Jaden Korr is cool too, but everyone loved Kyle and the unique character that he was. All of your favorite characters are present too and there are many mods (such as the KotF mod) that keep this game alive and fresh. The stories are great and are amazing additions to the New Republic era!

• 1. TIE Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II The Sith Lords (KOTOR II)

  These games are the best Star Wars games ever made. You will never play a Star Wars game that is more thought provoking, challenging, fun, and interesting as these two games. KOTOR and KOTOR II do not follow a “shoot em’ up” kind of style. It is modeled after the D20 system and it is a role playing game with high replay value and many different ways to accomplish objectives. 

  If you want to get a feel for what the galaxy was several thousand years before Episode 1 then you need to play this game. If you want philosophical questions and amazing character development you need to play these games. If you want great side quests and great dialogue options you need to play these games. If you want an amazing story, fantastic villains, and great supporting characters you need to play these games. If you want to play one of the best Star Wars games ever made you need to play these games. 

  KOTOR II in my opinion is superior to KOTOR (of course, you want to download the “Sith Lords Restored Content Modification” to fully appreciate and understand KOTOR II). But does that mean KOTOR is bad? NO, PLAY THESE GAMES YOU WON’T REGRET IT.

Go out and play all these games. They can give you stories and fun that the comics, novels, and films couldn’t. They are all amazing and definitely worth the money. I think you can get these all on Steam during a sale or something. 

Again, trust… These games are too good not to play. Please do it. You won’t regret it, scout’s honor!
