My favorite aspect was the action. I loved the choreography of the fighting. Watching the battles on the big screen made me feel like a kid again when I would play with my toys, it was extremely enjoyable to just watch.
Visual effects were very well done throughout, there was never a moment where I was distracted by the CGI, I was able to focus on the story and the world.
The music is awesome as it gets me pumped up to just get inside a Jaeger and fight to protect!
I thought the ending was fantastic. I’m excited for the direction they are going in with the next entry if they get to make it.
Anything this movie did, the first Pacific Rim did better when comparing the two.
While some characters were likable, the majority of them were flat and difficult to emotionally connect with. Moments when characters were in danger or died unfortunately did not affect me.
Most of the humor did not work, it felt forced and cliché. The comedy was similar to Marvel’s formula which feels tiresome and prevents this from being truly unique.
Villain was disappointing as the motivation was unclear and not compelling enough. I appreciate them for trying to do more within the main concept of Jaegar vs Kaiju, but it really should have been kept that simple.
The performances and dialogue were cheesy to the point where moments weren’t fun and endearing, they were cringeworthy.
Don’t let what others think of you define you, family is worth to forgive, and you already have your enemy beat when you know their objective.
